Project Jackalope is a science fiction novel with a comedic twist, which I love about all of Emily Ecton’s books. Jeremy was just a normal seventh grader, living a normal seventh grader life, until one day, his nutty neighbor, Professor Twitchett, randomly gives Jeremy a ‘present.’ This ‘present’ turns out to be a mythical creature, a Jackalope. Together Jeremy and Jack, the Jackalope, go on a zany adventure dodging secret agencies and go into hiding. They’re running from all sorts of instruments used by them, they even hide in the zoo! Can they escape with the Jackalope safe in their hands, or will they be forced to surrender him to the agency?

My favorite part of this book is when Jeremy finds Jack inside of his hamper, eating ALL of his clothes. This made me laugh so hard because I can relate to this first hand. My dog, Ozzie, loves to eat things that he definitely shouldn’t be eating, including couch cushions!

I would recommend this book to people who love books by Emily Ecton. This book is also the perfect fit for anyone who is looking for a Sci-Fi novel with comedy.
