I read these books a few years ago, and loved them so much I started reading all of Emily Ecton’s books, like Project Jackalope and The Ambrose Deception. I have read all the books in the Pet Heist series, and reviewed The Great Catnapping here. Now my younger sister Lila is reading the Pet Heist series. Since it has been a long time since I read them, she is doing a Guest Review for you on the first book in the series, The Great Pet Heist.

The Great Pet Heist is a fictional, funny, cute book about a group of adorable pets written by Emily Ecton. It is the first book in a series and I can’t wait to read the next books.
There is Butterbean, a funny dog, Walt is a mischievous cat, Oscar is a clever mynah bird, and Marco and Polo are curious rats, and they all had the same owner. In the book, Mrs. Food (what the pets call their owner) slipped on Butterbean’s throw up and went to the hospital. A girl named Madison came to take care them while their owner is in the hospital, but the pets had a plan to try to get rich so they can take care of themselves. They made a plan to get money from one of their neighbors because Butterbean saw him drop a coin in the elevator. Will the heist work and will they be able to live on their own? You will have to read to find out.
My favorite part of this book was the funny and curious characters, especially Butterbean the dog. I also have a hilarious dog who throws up sometimes and gets into trouble. Anyone who loves funny animals and likes to laugh at things their pets do would love this book.
