The Great Catnapping is the fourth book in an amazing series by Emily Ecton, The Great Pet Heist. The series is about a group of hilarious pets living in a building in New York City, and they get into funny adventures together. I read all of the books in the series a few years ago, but this fourth book came out recently and my mom preordered it a while ago so I decided to read it when it came. Now my younger sister is reading the series and she did a guest review for you on The Great Pet Heist, the first book in the series. All of the books in the series are so funny you will laugh out loud reading them!

In The Great Catnapping, Madison comes rushing home one day to tell her guardian about some good news! She was asked to be a pet wrangler for her cat, Walt, and the White Cat (who is a famous spokes-cat for Beautiful Buffet Cat Food) at the big opening for the new supermarket. Everyone is excited, except Walt. Two cats let loose at a supermarket grand opening? Sounds like a good idea (NOT!) Mayhem ensues, and before anyone knows what happened the cats have disappeared! Investigators are trying to get evidence, but the rest of the pets are already devising a plan to get them back.

Everyone is shocked that someone catnapped Walt and the White Cat, and everyone is determined to get Walt and the White Cat back (especially the pets). When Madison takes Butterbean on a short walk to the dog park, they meet a dog with a message from Walt and the White Cat. Butterbean is determined to find them, and after many turns that felt like hours, they were there! One problem, how are they going to get home?! So, the pets devise another plan that’s even more crazy than the last one! You will have to read it to find out if they rescue the cats and make it home! There are many more hilarious adventures including a bleeding tail, a crashed car, a honking horn, a robot cleaner, and the pets’ reactions and conversations are so funny!

If you like humorous books and animals, then you’ll like this book. If you like mysteries and detective stories then you’ll also like this book because when the cats go missing everyone (including the pets) tries to find them. I would recommend this book for kids in 2nd-4th grade.
